No eyeshadow makeup... Minimum effort, maximum impact!

It's December already!! Ahhh can't believe this year is coming to an end!! :O As clitchéd as it sounds, this year has flown by too quickly!!

Anyway, last night when I went out with my friends, I decided to live up to this festive season by wearing a bronze sequined top.. I actually bought it 4 years ago while I was on holiday in London. It's amazing how it doesn't look that old, thats the beauty of sequins!! :D

Top: Miss Selfridge
        Black waxed jeans: Zara
   Watch: Michael Kors

When it came to my makeup, I decided to go for "minimum effort, maximum impact" haha.. I had a looooong day yesterday and I couldn't be bothered to dress up! Plus, less is MORE sometimes!

I went for the no eyeshadow look! I literally used a black kohl pencil and a bright red lipstick!!
Okay, you can stop there if you want it to stay for one hour, but for your makeup to last all day it's really important to layer it up! So On top of the black kohl, I used black eyeshadow to set it in place with a pencil brush from mac called #219.

Coral Red- Oriflame, M.A.C Smolder

Let me make this simpler:

1. Draw a line on top of your eyes and below with a black kohl pencil. I used M.A.C Smolder as it's jet black and smudges alot!! Now you must be wondering why I would like a pencil that smudges..? For this look, I've just smoked out my eyeliner and smudged it with a smudge brush so it's easier to use this pencil instead of one that is stubborn and smudge proof.

2. Smudge this with a smudge brush- M.A.C #219

3. Dab on some black eyeshadow on top with the same brush so that it sets the kohl and it remains in tact all night long!!

4. Curl your lashes and apply some mascara!

For my lips, I used a gorgeous Coral Red lipstick by Oriflame from the Demi Moore Collection. It's long lasting so there's no need for touch ups!! :D

I also used some foundation before I started my makeup to even it out since my skin has been acting up lately!!

Hope this was helpful! :)

Have fun. party hard and make the most of 2013!!!

Mwah :*

THE INVINCIBLE- Tea Tree Oil

I can't stress enough how miraculous this particular essential oil is...It's been used for centuries-  popularly known for its infection fighting abilities and for soothing the skin!
I used it the last time I broke out into two spots (thanks to fried food), and I dabbed some on using a cotton pad twice a day! It does burn and tingle when you first apply it, but it settles down in a few minutes! =D It REALLY works!
What I love about it is, that it's colourless, so you can even apply it while your out! (unlike other ointments which leave an ugly creamish residue!) Oh, and the smell of tea tree is so refreshing, it actually calms me down, somewhat like aromatherapy! Ha ha

Rs. 465

Rs. 449

What some of us are unaware of, is it's multifunctional properties:

1. It's amazing to clear blemishes without overdrying the skin. Apply it directly onto the blemish, either with a clean finger or using a cotton pad.
2. It's also useful to cure Dandruff! All you gotta do is apply a few drops of it and gently massage it into your scalp for a few mins before you shampoo your hair. Follow this with regular shampoo and rinse thoroughly!
3. For all you clumsy ones like me, it helps to put TT oil on cuts and burns! Really soothes it down :)
4. If your suffering from a cold, chest congestion or bronchitis, add about 3 drops in boiling hot water, and inhale the steam for 5-10 minutes. Such a relief!!
5. Pamper yourself in a hot bath tub and stir in a few drops of TT oil and experience bliss.. :P
6. To keep them germs away, you can use it as an all-purpose cleanser by combining 2 teaspoons of TT oil in 2 cups of water. Then transfer it into a spray bottle.. tadaaa! you've got a "Do it Yourself" Cleaning Spray!

There are sooooo many more uses- like putting a few drops into the washing machine to make your clothes smell yummy, cleaning your bathroom tiles with it and even destroying head lice!! :O

So there it is!...A must-have in every household!

All Hail Tea Tree Oil! *_*

Hot Pink Lips!

Step out of your "comfort zone" with this gorgeousss shade of pink! It can get monotonous sticking to the classic red lips! Hot pink lips have been popping up everywhere, just manipulate the colour to match your skintone :)

I wore this look during my friend's wedding in Hyderabad, for one of the functions.. Remember to focus on one feature (lips in this case!)..  I've combined two lipsticks- Lakme Enrich Satin- No. 134 and MAC- Girl About Town.. The reason I took the extra step to mix them up together is because I wanted to achieve a "warmer" hot pink which would complement my skin tone!..

For my eyes, I've applied Maybelline's Gel Eyeliner and winged it out slightly.. Yes, I'm obsessed with winged eyeliner!! :P Ofcourse, I coated my lashes with 2 coats of mascara- Oriflame: Wonder Lash. My cheeks were brushed with a teeeeny bit of a peachish brown bronzer: Oriflame Bronzing pearls- Natural Radiance! Have any of you tried hot pink lips? What are your thoughts of it?

Lots of love,

Guide to Makeup Brushes

Hey guys! I just realized that I accidentally deleted my previous post about the makeup brushes that I explained in my video... (Click on the link below if you haven't watched it yet :D )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoR7orOxX3Y

I've used the a variety of brushes from Vega(the professional range) and Oriflame because of their quality... Honestly, M.A.C brushes are the best and I highly recommend them, but if your on a budget, here are a few substitutes!

Oh, please make sure to buy the "professional" range by Vega, not the regular ones (the wooden handles) as they are of poor quality! Oriflame brushes do not have codes/numbers.. They are available through Oriflame Consultants, so you can either contact a consultant or email me at mesmereyesmakeup@gmail.com (which ever part of India your from!)

Ok, let me finally get to the point!!.. Here is the product description:

Blue Eyeliner

The quickest way to glam up during the day! ( I didn't intend to make it rhyme :P )

Move away from the typical black eyeliner and experiment with different colours to make your eyes stand out this summer!

So I applied the eyeliner using a blue eye pencil ... and then coated the liner (using an angular brush) with navy blue eyeshadow. If not, you can use a blue liquid liner or gel eyeliner directly on to your eyelids! Oh and I did put a teeeny bit of the blue eye pencil on my waterline!

Feel free to add a coat of mascara for an instant lift!! (I haven't got any mascara on :O I'm surprised myself haha! )

Product Description:

Oriflame Smooth Definer- Blue- Rs. 249
M.A.C Eyeshadow - Deep Truth- Rs. 950
