Sunday Brunch. Venue: Zara
Tapas Bar.
I usually miss Sunday
brunches because of my weekend makeup workshops which take place in Chennai,
but this time around, I was taking a break from them! I couldn't control my
excitement when the plan was made! I really look forward to Sunday Brunches- love
the variety of food and of course the desserts! *_* Plus, it's better to hog
during the day so that you have enough time to burn off the calories before you
go to bed! ;)
While I was getting ready,
I decided to just wear kajal and moisturizer! Then I got reminded of the sample
products I got from Dior when I bought their lipstick (Many high end companies
give out samples to customers when you buy makeup from them! They're great for
traveling!)
DIORSNOW |
So I grabbed this BB Cream
which the lady at the counter said was a fast moving one and slapped it all
over my face. I really liked the coverage this BB cream gave me! It blended so
easily, evened out my skin and gave me a fresh look!
But, after a friend put up
this picture on FB, I thought I saw a ghost...
My face looks painted! |
Woaaaah! :O :/ :S
I thought to myself- I
didn't apply any foundation, nor did I touch the compact powder! How on earth
did that happen!
I immediately got back
home and hunted for the lil tube that I used on my face. The one thing I didn't
realize it had- SPF 50! The BIGGEST culprit of looking washed out and mask-like
in photos!
Now how and why does this
happen???
Sunscreen contain active
ingredients- titanium dioxide and zinc oxide which prevents UV radiation from
penetrating into your skin. It works the same way with photos! The sunscreen
will reflect the flash and make you look like a WHITE AWFUL GHOST! ugh. Hey,
that being said, don't throw away your sunscreens! You should continue using
them, except when you are being photographed!
Your face will looks super
smooth in broad daylight but in photos you'll look 3 shades fairer! This in not
a good thing!
The BB creams that I've
come across have a max SPF of 15-20 but this one had an SPF 50 (no wonder
it's called DiorSnow) which is AMAZING for the day but a DISASTER for flash
photography!!!
You can imagine the shock
on my face when I saw this pic! Hahaha it was hilarious!!
Have a great day, take
lots of pictures but remember not to wear a sunscreen or any makeup containing
SPF while being photographed! :)
